Part-Time Bookseller at Westside Market

Stop & Read Books is looking for a thoughtful, reliable part-time bookseller to join our Westside Market location. This role is ideal for someone who loves literature, enjoys engaging with customers, and wants to be part of a small, community-driven retail space.

Schedule

• Saturdays mandatory
  

• Occasional flexibility for additional coverage as needed
  

• Shared weekend structure: you’ll rotate full weekends off once a month
  

What You’ll Do

• Provide warm, attentive customer service and thoughtful book recommendations
  

• Maintain the sales floor: merchandising, restocking, and general upkeep
  

• Operate the point-of-sale system and handle transactions accurately
  

• Assist with receiving inventory and light back-of-house organization
  

• Support in-store events and contribute to the overall atmosphere of the shop
  

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine love of books and reading
  

• An outgoing personality and comfort engaging with a wide range of customers
  

• Friendly, grounded, and comfortable taking initiative
  

• Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  

• Able to work independently in a small team environment
  

• Previous retail or bookselling experience is a plus, but not required
  

• Bonus points if you’re comfortable leading a book club or children’s story hour
